Macau’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will present “Mediterraneo”, an ancient music concert that will take the audience back to the roots of old civilisations, at the Macao Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Grand Auditorium in Nape on 16 March. Crossing over cultural traces of antiquity, Mediterraneo’s music “sails between Turkey and Portugal, navigating by the shores of Greece and Italy”, according to the bureau.
Led by its founding director Christina Pluhar, L’Arpeggiata’s Baroque ensemble will bring together an array of great voices and the mood-setting moves of a dancer. The concert will show the audience that the sea, rather than separating, actually connects hearts and minds – from the soulfulness of the Portuguese fado music to the unique harmonies of medieval Greek and Italian tunes.
