The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will present a contemporary reinvention of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” by Matthew Bourne, one of Britain’s famous choreographers, at the Macao Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Grand Auditorium in July. The four-show production will run from 11-14 July.
Known for transforming classics into edgy productions, from “The Swan Lake” to “The Nutcracker”, Bourne has been a prolific ballet creator and choreographer for musicals, theatre and television since the 1980s. A winner of Tony and Olivier awards, his work keeps changing perceptions, breaking boundaries in the world of dance.
In addition to the shows, the dancing company’s dancers will be hosting a workshop at the CCM on 10 July, open for all dance enthusiasts.
