The Macau SAR’s Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ao Ieong U led a delegation to San Francisco in California, United States from 28-30 May (US time) to participate in several exchange activities, promoting economic growth and trade, talent development, cultural exchange and co-operation between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the San Francisco Bay Area, with an introduction to Macau’s Talent Recruitment Programmes.
In addition, Ao attended the US-China Bay to Bay Dialogue on 29 May, where she delivered a speech, according to the Office of the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture. During this event, the Macau Delegation also discussed topics such as development opportunities and friendly exchanges in the GBA with representatives from Guangdong Province, Hong Kong SAR and the US state of California.
During the US visit, the delegation also visited the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco and communicated with the Chinese students and scholars’ association of a local university, as well as a Chinese chamber of commerce, a Chinese group and youth students in the United States.
