David Kenechukwu Muoka has made history becoming the first basketball player who was born and raised in Hong Kong to sign a contract with the North America-based National Basketball Association (NBA) as the 23-year-old mixed Nigerian-British player recently signed with Portland Trail Blazers.
Muoka was born in the neighbouring SAR on 14 December 2000 to Jonathan Muoka and Allison Bate.
“For the city [Hong Kong],” the former West Island School pupil commented on his agent’s recent Instagram post, adding Hong Kong flag and heart emojis next to his comment.
Standing at 2.08 metres tall, Muoka also attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where he played for the college UNLV Rebels.
