The Humarish Club is collaborating with Madein Gallery to present “La Dolce Vita”, Shanghai-born artist Ding Li’s first solo exhibition in Macau, at the Humarish Club Art Space, which is located at Lisboeta Macau in Cotai. The exhibition was launched on Friday.
Born in 1979, the artist received his MA in oil painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts de Paris). He has showcased his work in various exhibitions – the most recent ones include the “Symphony of All the Changes: The 7th Guangzhou Triennial” at Guangdong Museum of Art last year and the “Youth Painting” at Boxes Art Space in Shenzhen in 2022.
His current exhibition revolves around semi-portraits of figures, including exclusive pieces crafted specifically for this occasion. The artist breathes new life into everyday scenes through intricate brushwork of “metallic texture lines” and layered textures, resulting in a mesmerising blend of realism and abstraction.
His unique approach not only invites contemplation but also encourages guests to delve into the depths of artistic interpretation. Moreover, the artist places a strong emphasis on creative essence and conceptual depth, eschewing formal perfection in favour of emotive expression, according to a Lisboeta Macau press release.
“His art transcends traditional boundaries, seamlessly melding digital innovation with classical techniques, thereby exemplifying the evolving landscape of interdisciplinary art,” the press release points out.
