The Creative Macau is currently showcasing works by Macao-based Portuguese American artists Hugo Teixeira in the “Involuntary Landscapes Photography Exhibition”, which attempts to piece together a historical and cultural “consciousness lost” when his family emigrated from Portugal and settled in California in the 1970s. Teixeira studied photography at San Jose State University and Lisbon’s Escola Técnica de Imagem e Comunicação, as well as at Rochester Institute of Technology. His artworks rely on photography, common materials, advanced technical skill sets and memory to create contemporary conceptual images and sculptures.
Located on the ground floor of Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape, the Creative Macau gallery is open from 2 pm to 7 pm on Monday-Saturday until 4 March 2023. Admission is free.
