Dubai streets have been submerged in water after heavy rains hit the United Arab Emirate today. Flights into the Dubai International Airport were also temporarily diverted due to the flooded tarmac as the desert city was hit by the heaviest rainfall in 75 years, according to various media reports. Videos of planes navigating through water on the airport tarmac have meanwhile gone viral. In the neighbouring Oman, nearly 20 people were killed in a flash flood, some media organisations have reported.
