Filipino American Mitchell Saron, a 23-year-old Harvard University fencer, is reported to be excited to have qualified to represent the United States at the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will take place in Paris, France from 26 July to 11 August.

Saron, whose mother is Filipina, is a senior student majoring in economics. Paris will be his first Olympic Games, a dream he said he has since age nine. “I’m hoping to medal twice,” he said optimistically. “The support from my family, coaches and trainers has been pivotal in reaching this point,” he added, as reported by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
