There 1,980 doctors, 728 Chinese medicine doctors or Chinese herbalists, as well as 2,980 nurses in Macau at the end of 2023 – up by 15, 4 and 117, respectively, year-on-year.
The figures meant there were around 2.9 doctors, 2.2 Chinese medicine doctors/herbalists and 4.4 nurses per 1,000 population, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
