Local artist Xie Xianli is currently showcasing her work of Chinese art, including paintings and calligraphies, in an exhibition at the Macao Government Tourism Office’s (MGTO) Ritz Building in the Senado Square. Featuring over 30 paintings depicting flowers, birds, landscapes, rural scenes and others, the “Xie Xianli’s Exhibition” runs from 26 July through 4 August.
Xie is a returned overseas Chinese from Indonesia who moved to Macau in the early 1970s. Her artworks have been exhibited in Macau, where she was awarded Best Creative Award at the 25th Macau Fine Arts Exhibition, as well as in Hong Kong and South Korea. Her work has also been collected by various institutions, such as the Memorial Hall of Zhou Enlai and the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macau. She is currently the president of Macau Art and Culture Creative Association and a traditional Chinese painting instructor at the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies (IFTM).
