The official logo, mascot and slogan for the ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup Macao 2024, which will be held at the Galaxy Arena from 15-21 April, were unveiled by the organisers recently.
Presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), the sporting event is jointly organised by the Sports Bureau (ID), GEG and the World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organised by the Macau Table Tennis General Association.
Crafted with silhouettes of swinging rackets, the event logo forms the shape of a lotus flower – Macau’s symbol. The blooming lotus over the water stripes pays homage to the SAR’s iconic Azulejo patterns.
The event mascot “BOBO” is named after the Cantonese pronunciation of “ball” and the local term “Chai” for table tennis. BOBO, a playful representation of a table tennis ball donned in a player’s attire, embodies Macau’s spirit of promoting the sport of table tennis.
Meanwhile, the event slogan, “Charming Macao, Blooming Table Tennis”, encapsulates the distinct culture, history and scenery of Macau.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale via Damai, the mCoin platform of Mpay, Cityline, MacauTicket.com as well as by telephone, or at Kong Seng outlets across Macau. Additionally, tickets will be available for purchase at the venue during the event. For more information about the event visit ITTF’s or ID’s websites, or the Facebook page “Macao Major Sporting Events”.
