The “Macao Library Week 2023” will promote a series of reading activities in the city from 15 April to 14 May. Co-organised by Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ), University of Macau (UM) Library and the Macao Library and Information Management Association, the event will include carnival-like promotional days held at Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape on 22 and 23 April, which will offer a book exchange, booth games and a book fair, among others – all to encourage people in Macau to develop a reading habit.
In addition, from 21 April to 6 May, “Pop-up Library” bookshelves will be set up at various locations across the city for the public to read books for free, while the “I have coffee, do you have a book?” activity will take place from 15-30 April, during which various cafes in town will encourage the public to bring their books and read at their premises while enjoying some coffees.
