The Macao Orchestra will collaborate with French pianist Lise de la Salle for the “70 Years Back in Time – Rachmaninoff” concert that will take place at The Venetian Theatre in The Venetian Macao on 6 July, performing works by Russian composers Sergei Rachmaninoff and Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov.
The 90-minute concert is jointly presented by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), Macao Orchestra Company, as well as Sands China Performing Arts Programme.
Under the baton of Macao Orchestra’s Music Director and Principal Conductor Lio Kuokman, the orchestra will perform three works by the two late Russian composers. Furthermore, de la Salle will join hands with the local orchestra in performing “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” and “Symphonic Dances” by Rachmaninoff.
The orchestra will also perform “Capriccio Espagnol” by Rimsky-Korsakov.
The Macao Orchestra 2023-24 Concert Season is co-organised by IC, Macao Orchestra Company, Galaxy Entertainment Group, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, MGM, Sands China, SJM Resorts and Wynn Macau, with the support of Bank of China (Macau Branch).
