The cross-boundary student shuttle service between Macau and Hengqin was officially launched on 1 September, the first day of the new academic year, with the service featuring a streamlined operation that allows on-board inspection and clearance without requiring the students to leave the vehicle, according to Government Information Bureau (GCS).
The service, currently still in its trial operation phase, caters specifically to Chinese nationals holding Macau permanent ID cards with valid Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents who are Primary 4 to Senior Secondary 3 students commuting between Macau and Hengqin for their studies, GCS has pointed out.
The service operates through 17 stops designated across the Macau Peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane – additional to the six stops within the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, including the Macao New Neighbourhood (MNN). – GNM
