The Macau IC2 Association presented its 2024 achievement exhibition, entitled “A New Chapter of Intrinsic Development and Helping Others: Mutual Love and Harmony Create Tomorrow – 2024 Achievement” at the Macau Federation of Neighbourhood Associations Building in Avenida Gen. Castelo Branco on 11 January.
Celebrating the personal empowerment, intrinsic development and communal harmony, the event was attended by Macau IC2 President Antonio Leong Ka Cheng, Chairman Ng Man Pou, Treasurer U Kai Seng and Supervisory Chairman Man Tak Fu, who reviewed the association’s remarkable achievements last year and expressed high hopes for its future development.
Established in August 2016, the Macau I Can Too (IC2) Association is Macau’s only government-registered non-profit organisation operated by people on the spectrum or with other mental disabilities, which believes in inclusiveness and empowering people to have their voices heard and needs fulfilled.
In his speech, Leong mentioned that last year the association welcomed new members, relocated to a new base and revitalised its quality services to its members.
Members learned various skills like baking, cooking, knitting, painting and calligraphy at the association’s new “Happy House”.
Leong also highlighted the “Tak Chong Café Project” entering its seventh year, having served over 7,800 people so far. The café project serves breakfast and beverages.
In addition, the association also organised last year its fourth annual “IC2 World Earth Day” event, which attracted 320 participants.
According to Ng, Macau IC2 currently has 190 members ranging from 3 to 62 years old. In 2024, the association served a total of 768,534 people in Macau and mainland China, organising and participating in 7,033 activities.
