The number of smokers in Macau over the past decade have significantly decreased from 16.6 per cent of the city’s entire population back in 2011 to just around 10.6 per cent last year, according to Health Bureau (SS) Director Alvis Lo Iek Long, who made the remarks during the bureau’s recent “2023 Tobacco Control Seminar”, which was held in celebration of the World No Tobacco Day on 31 May, according to a report by The Macau Post Daily.
