MEGA CONTENT CREATORS’ EVENT KICKS OFF

The much-anticipated “CreatorWeek Macao 2025”, a mega content creators’ event, kicked off at Wynn Palace in Cotai on Friday, bringing together top international and Greater China content creators, social media industry leaders and celebrity guests, leveraging their wide-spread influence to spark the intent of young travellers to visit Macau and inject a new momentum to the local tourism and economy, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO). 

Jointly organised by MGTO and international media production company Branded, the five-day event is oriented around the topic of Macau as a “young, international and innovative” city.

It brings about 250 groups of international and Greater China guests, including over 45 groups of influencers each with over 10 million followers, and 140 groups of influencers each with over one million followers. In addition, two groups of content creators engage over 100 million followers each. 

Other participants include representatives of international and mainland China’s major new media production companies and creator agencies.

As one of Asia’s super-mega gatherings for content creators across various platforms, the event enables interactive exchange that actualises the idea of “bringing in and going out into the world” through various activities and cross-sector collaborations, elevating Macau’s international influence as an inspirational city globally, according to MGTO. 

Meanwhile, the CreatorWeek Conference and Creator Academy will be held at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau tomorrow and Tuesday, featuring industry heavyweights as guest speakers, with both aiming to build a platform and create abundant business values for content creators, local new media production companies and groups, as well as platform leaders, the tourism office has pointed out

Furthermore, the CreatorWeek Conference will run from 10 am to 6 pm for two days, focusing on Chinese-Western social media culture, trends of social platforms as well as the current and future prospects of the creator economy, with topics including “The CreatorWeek Gateway to China”, “The China Export Blueprint: Scaling Creators From East to Global Stage”, “Taking Asia to the World”, “The State of the Creator Economy 2026” and “Scaling Success: The Strategy behind the World’s Biggest Creator Businesses”. 

The conference’s major speakers include Google Greater China Chief Marketing Officer Ben Wong, Greater China Meta Head of Industry Benny Chu and Boom Technology Co-Founder Aiden Qin, among others. 

The Creator Academy, meanwhile, will be held from 2-5 pm, during which industry elites and mainstream media platform leaders will share insights on quality content creation, fan base building and brand collaborations, with practical sessions leveraging Macau’s Chinese-Western cultural features, covering topics such as “From Local Voice to Global Influence”, “Creating Community with Snapchat” and “Maximising Meta Platforms”, among others. 

Moreover, the organiser is holding networking sessions tomorrow and on Tuesday, providing an opportunity for attendees to connect and spark inspirations with each other. The interactive moments will actualise the idea of bringing in and going out into the world, as creators come together to explore the future of the creator economy and a myriad of cooperation opportunities.
