Philippine singer Sarah Geronimo is scheduled to receive the Global Force Award during this year’s “billboard Women in Music” event that will take place at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, United States on 6 March. Also set to receive the same award as Geronimo are Italian singer Annalisa and Brazil’s Luisa Sonza.
The Global Force Award is a new award bestowed by international music and entertainment magazine billboard for the first time at its annual billboard Women in Music event, which was launched in 2007. The top award is “Woman of the Year Award”, whose first recipient in the inaugural event was US country music diva Reba McEntire. Colombian singer Karol G will receive this award at this year’s event.
The billboard Women in Music recognises women with significant contributions in the music industry and who have been inspirations to other women in the industry. (Gilbert Humphrey)
