The Philippines has won several awards from the 2024 World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony, which was held at the City of Dreams Manila on 3 September, including “Asia’s Leading Beach Destination 2024” and “Asia’s Leading Island Destination 2024”.
The Southeast Asian country also won “Asia’s Leading Dive Destination 2024” – for the sixth consecutive year since 2019 – while Manila’s historic Walled City of Intramuros was for the fourth time named “Asia’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2024”.
Furthermore, Boracay was recognised as “Asia’s Leading Luxury Island Destination” and Cebu was named “Asia’s leading Wedding Destination”, with the country’s Department of Tourism’s “Love the Philippines” campaign last year given the “Asia’s leading Marketing Campaign 2024” award, according to a report by Philstar.com.
