The 2025 Macao Water Run (MWR) will take place at Hac Sa Reservoir Natural Park in Coloane on 30 November.
The registration opened on 15 September, and places are open on a fist come, first served basis. The deadline is 18 October.
The event comprises 10-kilometre Men’s and Women’s Challenge Race as well Fun Race and Family Race (each spanning three kilometres). It will kick off at 9 am on 30 November.
The registration fee for the event will be allocated to the charity fund to carry out various charitable work, according to MWR’s website.
Participants’ running kits are scheduled to be collected exclusively from 10 am to 5 pm on 20-22 November.
The event is organised by Sincere Simple Diligent Association, and Melco Resorts & Entertainment is its title sponsor.
First launched in 2018, MWR – originally called “Mountain Run with Water” – is a running competition that challenges participants to carry a large amount of water over a specified distance. The event allows participants to experience firsthand the hardships faced by children who make the long journey to fetch clean water. The event urges communities to recognise the challenges of water scarcity and encourages younger generations to conserve water, the event’s website points out.
