SJM Resorts, S.A. held a launch ceremony for its dragon boat team at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre yesterday, ahead of next month’s “2024 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races”.
Title-sponsored and organised by SJM in collaboration with Macau’s Sports Bureau (ID) and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China, this year’s international dragon boat races will take place at the Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre from 8-10 June. This year, SJM will have seven teams competing in the annual event.
“Dragon boat racing, deeply rooted in traditional Chinese customs, has evolved into a sport celebrated worldwide,” SJM Managing Director Daisy Ho said during yesterday’s launching ceremony. “SJM is proud to lead the charge in both organising and enhancing this annual event.”
She added, “With our ‘sports + tourism’ strategy, we aim to captivate a global audience, drawing more international visitors to Macau to witness the races and explore our vibrant city, thus boosting Macau’s appeal as a tourist destination and showcasing the richness of Chinese culture.” (Gilbert Humphrey)
