Tickets for the “Fado Nights” Concerts at the Dom Pedro V Theatre are now on sale through Macau Ticketing Network (Macau), Damai (mainland China) and Cityline (Hong Kong) platforms. Organised by Macau’s Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), the concerts will be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1-24 March, from 7-8 pm, featuring a total of 12 traditional fado performances by prominent Fado singers Tiago Correia and Barbara Santos.
According to Wikipedia, Fado (meaning destiny or fate) is a Portuguese music genre that can be traced back to the 1820s Lisbon or even earlier, which is often characterised by mournful tunes and lyric.
In addition to the Fado Nights concerts, an exhibition on Fado’s history will be held in the hall of mirrors for the public to learn more about this popular Portuguese folk music genre. Tickets for the concerts are priced at MOP 200 each. For more information visit IC’s website.
