Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and MGM have jointly organised a series of “Macao Welcomes You” Training Programs for International Guests, providing both online and offline training and covering hospitality knowledge and skills for welcoming international visitors, as well as training about cultural customs and language proficiency, among others. The programs are expected to enhance tourism professionals’ and college students’ knowledge and skills in tending to visitors coming from different cultural backgrounds, and contribute to Macau’s sustainable and quality tourism development.
The first seminar, on Islamic Etiquette and Cultural Customs, was held yesterday and attended by more than 500 participants and guests, including MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, MGM China Senior Vice President of Hospitality Iwan Dietschi, as well as the seminar’s speaker Ding Shao Jie, Imam of Islamic Association of Macau.
