US string trio Time for Three will collaborate with Macao Orchestra (OM) for the latter’s concert, “Starry Symphony”, which will be held in the Grand Auditorium at Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape tonight.
Presented by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), Macao Orchestra Company and Sands China, the concert will see Time for Three presenting a mesmerising programme blending a variety of musical styles with OM.
The concert is part of the Sands China Performing Arts Programme.
Comprising violinists Nicolas Kendall and Charles Yang, and double bassist Ranaan Meyer, Time for Three specialises in adapting bluegrass, Americana, and popular singer-songwriter music, blending classical and different musical genres to create a unique style that has earned great acclaim, according to an IC press release.
The trip has received an Emmy Award for their live album “Time for Three in Concert”, while their album “Letters for the Future” won the Grammy Award for “Best Classical Instrumental Solo”.
In this 1.5-hour concert, the trio will present a diverse selection of works from the classical repertoire, Americana and popular singer-songwriter music, complemented by their own vocal performances which certainly bring exceptional musical experience to the audience.
