Former president as well as prime minister of Timor Leste, Xanana Gusmao, has been elected as the country’s prime minister again. He previously served in the same position from 2007 to 2015. Prior to this, he was Timor Leste’s first president since its re-establishment of independence, serving from 2002 to 2007.
