The University of Macau (UM) and Nanjing University (NJU) have launched a ‘2.5+2’ dual bachelor’s degree programme in applied physics and chemistry, and in applied physics, respectively, according to UM.

Students who meet the programme’s graduation requirements will receive a bachelor’s degree from each of both universities – Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Chemistry from UM (pictured, left) and Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from NJU (pictured, right). Both degrees are recognised in Macau and mainland China.

The dual-degree programme aims to establish a high-level cross-regional academic platform to enhance students’ international competitiveness and cultivate specialists in applied physics and chemistry for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the country, the local university pointed out in a press release.

The programme’s standard duration is 4.5 years, with students required to complete the first two and a half years taking up the UM’s applied physics and chemistry courses, followed by two years of applied physics courses at NJU. – GNM
