The WSF World Squash Team Championships 2024 will be held at the Hong Kong Football Club in Happy Valley from tomorrow until 15 December, with the support of the Squash Association of Hong Kong, China.
The event will feature world squash stars from Hong Kong SAR, mainland China, United States, Spain, South Africa as well as reigning champions Egypt, among others.
Organised by the World Squash Federation, the World Team Squash Championships are international squash competitions played by teams representing different nations, according to Wikipedia.
It is the first time the neighbouring SAR will hold the championships, which began in 1967 for the men’s competition and 1979 for the women’s.
This year’s event has drawn a global field of 49 teams (26 men’s and 23 women’s) with nearly 200 top players in the world competing for the right to be crowned world champions, according to a press release issued by the WSF World Squash Team Championships 2024.
Hong Kong Football Club Chairman Neil Jensen (pictured) said: “We are so proud to have been chosen by the World Squash Federation to host this landmark tournament. It is yet another endorsement of the world-class facilities, expertise and hospitality that Hong Kong offers.” (Gilbert Humphrey)
