Summer has arrived and the 2nd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival (MICAF) has a big delivery for the kids throughout July and August as the event’s mascot MICAF and its vibrant friends are ready to host this year’s event that will present more than 49 performances and over 1,000 different activities – including stage shows, interactive camps and various workshops.
The festival’s featured activities include the Family Art Camp, where families can camp overnight at the Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape, creating unforgettable moments, as well as the “Children’s Fun Book House”, a pop-up bookshop that will be open at CCM’s ARTmusing Room over the weekends in July and August.
Incorporating the elements of a playground, the pop-up bookshop will feature more than 400 picture books, teenagers’ books, colouring books, educational materials and other related cultural and creative products from more than 10 countries and regions, according to a press conference (pictured) held at CCM earlier this week.
Meanwhile, one of the festival’s highlights is the grand finale programme, “MICAF Fun Day” Arts Carnival, which will be held during the last two weekend of August, featuring artistic and cultural performances, a food market, craft workshops and game booths, as well as the popular splash and bubble parties – a perfect way to end the summer.
Organised by Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), this year’s MICAF is co-organised by Sands China and MGM, as well as supported by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and the Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), with Bank of China (Macau), Air Macau Company Limited, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf International Investment Limited and Macau Coca-Cola Beverage Company Limited as promotional partners.
