The “2nd Macao International Children’s Arts Festival” will be held from July to August, with tickets to some performances and the Art Camps available for purchase from 10 am on 11 June via the Enjoy Macau Ticketing while tickets for the Macao International Children’s Film Festival will also be available through the Cinematheque・Passion, according to Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).

Organised by IC, the event is a performing arts festival dedicated to children, which was launched last year

The festival aims to “brighten up children in their childhood with culture and arts, while encouraging families and children to get close to the arts and from diverse perspectives using all their senses”, the bureau points out in a press release

Among the performances featured in this year’s festival are the ballet “Cinderella” by the Ballet of the National Theatre Brno from the Czech Republic, the returning “Slava’s Snowshow” created by master clown and founder of the Clown Theatre Academy, Slava Polunin, as well as the theatre play for babies “Bebeethoven” by the Full Moon Theatre from Portugal, which will take babies on a musical journey through the gentle hum of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” to reach a magical world of notes and light, according to IC.

Meanwhile, the festival also features summer workshops suitable for all ages, from babies to seniors, with registration for the workshops already made available from Friday. Registration can be done through the Macao One Account’s “Activity Applications”. Furthermore, the festival includes over 35 workshops with a total of 100 classes covering music, theatre, painting and dance, suitable for all ages. More information about the workshops and details on more programmes are available via this link

The festival is supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM), with Bank of China (Macau), Air Macau, Macau Fisherman’s Wharf International Investment Limited and Macau Coca-Cola Beverage Co. Ltd. as promotional partners. For more information about the festival visit its official page on IC’s website. – GNM
