The AFA Autumn Salon 2025 was inaugurated on Friday, marking the 16th collaboration between local art group Art For All Society (AFA) and the Orient Foundation (FO) in organising the city’s annual art exhibition since 2010.

In addition, this year’s event marks a momentous homecoming for the AFA Autumn Salon to its historic venue, Casa Garden, home to FO. Around 100 works by over 50 artists based in or from Macau are displayed in the AFA Autumn Salon 2025 – curated by Julia Lam Tsz Kwan and Kitman Leong.

Under the banner of “Own Our City, Own Our Art”, the art salon has consistently championed the appreciation and collection of local art. Drawing inspiration from the historic French Salons (“Salon de Paris”), the local art event provides an essential, open-minded platform for Macau’s emerging artists to showcase their talent and engage in cultural exchange, according to AFA.

The AFA Autumn Salon’s highlight, “Orient Foundation Art Award”, judged by a professional jury, recognises artistic potential and serves as a crucial springboard, propelling rising stars from Macau’s art scene onto the international stage and fostering a vibrant dialogue between local and global creative currents, the art group points out in its website.

The exhibition is open from 10 am to 7 pm daily, except Mondays and public holidays, until 6 December. For more information visit AFA’s website or Facebook page. (Gilbert Humphrey)
