Nicaragua’s 23-year-old Sheynnis Palacios has recently won the title of Miss Universe 2023, beating 83 other beauty queens from across the globe and making her country’s first-ever Miss Universe win. Palacios speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese, and she looks up to Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico as well as the pageant’s 2018 winner Catriona Gray from the Philippines, according to various media reports. Placing second in the beauty contest was Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild, while Australian Moraya Wilson came third.
Meanwhile, Michelle Dee of the Philippines, daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, won the Best National Costume at this year’s Miss Universe pageant.
