The “Macau Artists Group Exhibition | On the occasion of the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Macau Handover to China” kicked off Albergue SCM’s Gallery A2 in Sao Lazaro district on 6 March.
Organised by the CAC – Círculo dos Amigos da Cultura de Macau and sponsored by the Cultural Development Fund, the exhibition presents over 30 works by 22 artists that comprise Adalberto Tenreiro, Cai Guo Jei, Chan Hin Io, Cindy Ng Sio Ieng, Cristina Mio U Kit, Denis Murrell, Eva Mok, Giulio Acconci, Guilherme Ung Vai Meng, Lei Ka Ieng (Kit), Lili Silveirinha, Noah Ng Fong Chao, Nuno Calçada Bastos, Season Lao, Tong Chong, Un Chi Iam, Veronica Lei Fong Ieng, Victor Hugo dos Santos Marreiros, Wang Tou Kun, Xixia Wu, Yao Mou In and Zhang Ke.
The exhibits cover a variety of mediums and styles, exploring the characteristics of creation and the combination of different techniques through art, showing the artists’ different backgrounds and unique artistic styles.
Established in 1985 by its founding members Carlos Marreiros, Mio Pang Fei, Kwok Woon, Un Chi Iam, Uang Vai Meng and Victor Marreiros, CAC is widely recognised as the pioneer in Macau’s art scene and known for its commitment in promoting the culture, arts, heritage, architecture, literature and other sort of cultural activities of Macau, while also exhibiting Macau artists’ creations.
The exhibition is open from noon to 8 pm daily, except Monday (3-8 pm), through 24 March. Admission is free. For more information visit CAC’s Facebook page.
