Registration for local races of 2024 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races, scheduled to take place at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre from 8-10 June, will begin tomorrow on a first-come, first-served basis until all places are filled, the organisers have announced in a press conference.
The 2024 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races is jointly organised by Sports Bureau (ID), SJM Resorts and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China (DBAMC), and co-organised by Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) and the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP).
Limited places are available in this year’s local races: Macao Small Dragon Boat Race (60 teams for Open Category and 24 teams for Women’s Category), Macao Government Departments Small Dragon Boat Race (18 teams), Macao University Student Small Dragon Boat Race (12 teams for Open Category) and Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race (36 teams for Open Category and 18 teams for Women’s Category).
Interested organisations need to submit team entries online via www.cmdragonboat.org.mo between 10 am tomorrow and 10 pm on 19 March to create an online account, after which they can register in the participating race categories between 10 am on 20 March and 10 pm on 26 March.
The Top 12 ranked teams in the Open Category and the Top 6 ranked teams in Women’s Category of last year’s Macao Small Dragon Boat Race, plus the Top 6 ranked teams in the Open Category and the Top 3 ranked teams in Women’s Category of the Macao Standard Dragon Boat Race in 2023 will be given the priority to register for the respective category in this year’s Macao International Dragon Boat Races, according to ID.
Successfully registered teams must then submit relevant information including the name list of the team members by 10 pm on 2 May. Application for change of team members must be submitted by 10 pm on 10 May. Late registrations of applications for change will not be accepted.
