The Art For All Society (AFA) Macau will hold “Viral Code? A Discussion on Art and the Masses” at the Artelli, The Showroom, City of Dreams (COD) in Cotai from 11:30 am to 1 pm tomorrow.
The event is organised by AFA Macau in collaboration with Artelli, with the support of the Cultural Development Fund (FDC), COD and Air Macau.
The keynote speakers scheduled for this art discussion are academic advisor and Chinese contemporary art critic Victoria Lu, mainland Chinese contemporary artist Zhao Xiaoli and local multimedia artist Wu Xixia, with another local artist, Alice Kok, to moderate the event.
Admission to this art discussion is free and based on first come first served.
Meanwhile, this art event is based on a current exhibition, entitled “Viral Code? A Discussion on Art and the Masses – Zhao Xiaoli and Wu Xixia Dual Exhibition”, which is held at the Artelli from 4 June to 3 July.
The exhibition marks the first time the two artists have ever collaborated. They engage in a dialogue reflecting on art, digital traffic and the portrayal of the female image. Furthermore, this exhibition explores the intriguing relationship between art and the public in the digital era, focusing on the impact of social media on cultural shifts in art.
Organised by AFA Macau, Artelli and the Pioneering Multi-dimensional Art Space, the exhibition is open from 11 am to 8 pm daily. Admission is free. For more information about the exhibition visit Artelli’s website or Facebook page. (Gilbert Humphrey)
