The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will hold the “Old Meets New: A Historical Photo Exhibition Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland” at the Macao Museum from 13 July to 8 September, with the opening ceremony set to take place on 12 July.
The exhibition will be held on the 3rd floor of the museum, presenting the changes that the city has gone through since the 1999 handover.
The exhibition is divided into five sections – Historical Buildings, Everyday Life, Scenes of the Past, Celebrating the Return and Today’s Macao – featuring nearly 120 old and new photographs and other relevant objects that showcase the urban landscapes and cultural characteristics of Macau, as well as the SAR’s development throughout the past 25 years.
In addition, the Macao Museum will launch an online virtual reality version of the exhibition, which can be accessed by the public via the museum’s website.
The museum is open daily except Mondays, from 10 am to 6 pm (last admission at 5:30 pm). For more information visit the museum’s website or contact 2835 7911.
