Voice of Baceprot (VoB), a three-piece all-girl hijab-wearing metal band from the West Javan city of Garut, is set to perform at England’s Glastonbury Festival on 28 June, making history as the first Indonesian band to perform in the world-famous festival’s 54-year existence.
Also known as “Glasto”, the festival – the largest arts and performance festival in England – will take place from 26-30 June, on a 364-hectare site at Worthy Farm in Somerset. More than 200,000 people attended last year’s festival, according to various media reports.
Meanwhile, during their time in the United Kingdom, the VoB will also perform at Downstairs At The Dome in London on 26 June, according to the band’s Instagram account. (Gilbert Humphrey)
