The Indonesian national football team won its first gold medal since 1991 as they defeated Thailand 5-2 at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia during the final of the men’s football tournament at the 2023 SEA Games on Tuesday. The 32nd Southeast Asian Games was held in the Cambodian capital from 5-17 May, with Vietnam coming first on the medal tally, scoring 136 gold, 104 silver and 118 bronze medals. Thailand and Indonesia came second and third with 107 and 87 gold medals, respectively, followed by host country Cambodia (81), Philippines (58), Singapore (51), Malaysia (34), Myanmar (21), Laos (6), and Brunei (2). Timor Leste came last with eight bronze medals only.
