The “Concert of Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Macao’s Return to the Motherland – Glittering Lights, Shining Flowers” will be held at the Macao Cultural Centre’s (CCM) Grand Auditorium in Nape on 1 December.
The concert, the highlight of the Macao Chinese Orchestra 2024-25 Concert Season, is organised by Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), co-ordinated by the Macao Orchestra Company and supported by BOC Macau.
Under the baton of Macao Chinese Orchestra (OCHM) Music Director and Principal Conductor Zhang Lie, the local Chinese orchestra group will collaborate with top musicians to present a selection of iconic pieces, including “Glittering Lights, Shining Flowers” composed by Gu Guanren for OCHM, “The Yimeng Landscapes” and “Uproar in Heaven”.
In addition, Portuguese Fado guitarist Marta Pereira da Costa will join hands with OCHM Liuqin Principal Wei Qing to present “Macao Rhapsody”, a work composed by Kuan Nai Chung and commissioned for this concert.
