MACAU REGISTERS SOME 873,000 VISITOR ARRIVALS DURING LABOUR DAY HOLIDAY 

APRIL’S VISITOR ARRIVALS INCREASE BY 11.3 PER CENT YEAR-ON-YEAR TO OVER 3.4 MILLION

The Labour Day holiday in mainland China, from 1 to 5 May, has come to an end, with Macau registering about 873,000 visitor arrivals in total throughout the holiday – a year-on-year increase of 2.7 per cent – based on preliminary statistics. 

The single-day volume of visitors peaked at about 248,000 on 2 May, the highest record of single-day visitor arrivals since there was official statistics, with average hotel occupancy rate topping 92.7% over the five-day holiday, according to the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).
