Quezonian Association of Macau, in coordination with other local communities and headed by Waraynon Association in Macau, will hold the Macau Pahiyas Festival 2025 at Sai Van Lake Square, in front of Macau Tower, from 9 am to 7 pm on 25 May.

Originally from the Municipality of Lucban in Quezon province, the Pahiyas Festival is held in Quezon every 15 May in honour of Saint Isidore the Laborer, the Catholic patron saint of farmers.

The festival is considered the Southeast Asian country’s biggest and most-colourful harvest festival, where locals decorate their houses with various flowers, fruit, vegetables and other produce, with a grand parade taking place usually in the afternoon. The parade typically features marching bands, giant puppets and people dressing up in colourful outfits.

In Macau, the festival has annually been held for many years, with a parade and various performances. The Macau Pahiyas Festival is supported by the city’s Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM). (Gilbert Humphrey)
