The Macau SAR Government is donating HK$30 million, through the Macao Foundation (FM), to support the Hong Kong SAR Government in its relief effort and subsequent reconstruction work after a massive fire took place at Wang Fuk Court in the neighbouring SAR’s Tai Po district on Wednesday, according to Macau’s Government Information Bureau (GCS).

As of last night, the death toll has reached a total of 128, with some 200 people still missing, various media groups have reported.

On behalf of the Macau SAR Government, Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai has expressed condolences to the victims’ families as well as extended heartfelt sympathies to the injured and other people affected by the incident, while also calling for the local community to take positive actions through various means to support the neighbouring SAR.
