Macau’s 3G network officially came to an end at midnight on 5 June, when all 3G services were fully terminated.
This marks the full entry of Macau’s mobile telecommunication service into the era of 4G/5G, according to Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT).
“Users can now enjoy faster and more convenient services thanks to the advanced communication technology,” the bureau says, reminding everyone in Macau to make sure their mobile phone devices support 4G/5G and activate the VoLTE function.
CTT has requested all mobile network operators in Macau to strengthen the customer service support at their retail locations to help mobile users who still encounter problems when using the 4G/5G services, such as helping to activate the VoLTE functionality in the handset. – GNM
