Michelle Daniela Marquez Dee was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 at Mall of Asia, Pasay City, the Philippines yesterday, beating 37 other candidates from across the Southeast Asian country. Born in Makati, Metro Manila in 1995, Dee will represent her country at the 72nd Miss Universe contest in El Salvador, where the reigning Miss Universe, Filipino-American R’Bonney Gabriel will crown the new winner. Previously, Dee won Miss World Philippines pageant in 2019 and she finished in the Top 12 at the Miss World 2019 event in London. Dee’s mother, Melanie Marquez, won Miss International 1979 pageant at the age of 15.
