The “Asia & Oceania Sambo Championships Macao 2024” is scheduled to be held at the Macau Forum on 29-30 June.
Participants from more than 20 countries are expected to join the sporting event, according to organisers.
Wikipedia defines sambo as a martial art and combat sport developed and used by the Soviet Red Army in the early 1920s to improve their hand-to-hand combat abilities. The sport has many similarities with judo and jujitsu and incorporates different types of wrestling and various self-defence systems. (Wong Kin Ang)
