The “Redrawing in Azulejos, Solo Exhibition by Adalberto Tenreiro | Celebration of Day of Portugal Camões, and the Portuguese Communities” was launched last month and the exhibition will run until 28 July in Gallery A2 at the Albergue SCM in the creative Sao Lazaro district. Organised by CAC – Círculo dos Amigos da Cultura de Macau, the exhibition is showcasing more than 30 sets of painted tiles displayed alongside the respective sketches and paintings, allowing the audience to explore the artistic expansion’s process. The subjects depicted in the artist’s work include buildings from around the world, including in Macau, as well as objects from the artist’s daily life.
Born in Sao Tome and Principe in 1955, Adalberto Tenreiro graduated from Portugal’s Technical University of Lisbon in 1982 with a degree in architecture, before relocating to Macau the year after. He has held and participated in many individual and group exhibitions in Macau, Portugal, Spain and elsewhere.
