A total of 67 cyclists from 23 teams from Macau, Hong Kong and mainland China joined the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Road Cycling Race and Road Cycling Test Event of the 15th National Games held on the 55-kilometre Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) yesterday.
The 15th National Games will be held in November next year and will be jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
The HZMB will be used as a track for the first time in the men’s individual road cycling event next year, which will be the only event in the 15th National Games to cross borders between the three regions, according to the Preparatory Office for Organising the Macau Competition Zone of the 15th National Games and the National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the National Special Olympics Games.
Jointly hosted by the three regions, yesterday’s event was held for coordination and testing purposes, the Preparatory Office pointed out. (Yip Kiu)
