The University of Macau’s (UM) “6th Summer Camp for Outstanding Students” has recently been held, bringing to Macau over 90 outstanding students from world-renowned universities like Purdue University, University of Ottawa, University of Bristol, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Beihang University.
Jointly organised by the UM’s Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI), the summer camp programme – launched in 2019 – attracted applications from more than 600 higher education students from around the world this year. The over 90 selected participants took part in various learning activities, experienced UM’s environment and explored Macau’s cultural charm (pictured).
Under the guidance of UM professors, participants visited the local university’s key laboratories and research centres, as well as took part in activities to explore cutting-edge research fields. Seminars were also organised to provide participants with helpful advice on academic and career development. In addition, campus tours and Macau cultural experience tours were organised, providing participants with a deeper understanding of UM’s international learning environment and the SAR’s rich historical and cultural landscape, according to UM. – GNM
