The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) will present the concert “Jazz Up for Christmas at Dom Pedro V Theatre” on the evening of 21, 22, 24 and 25 December, which will feature Portuguese jazz maestro Zé Eduardo and the Jazz Mission Big Band.
Combining jazz, gastronomy and Portuguese culture, the event invites the audience to celebrate Christmas at the theatre while experiencing the cultural, artistic, and festive vibes, according to IC.
During the concert, Eduardo (pictured, main image) and the band will team up with veteran jazz singers Marta Garret and Sofia Rodrigues to present a series of classic jazz pieces and Christmas carols to the Macau audience.
Eduardo, who is known for his dedication and outstanding contribution to jazz music education and promotion efforts, shares strong ties with Macau since he participated in the first edition of Macao International Jazz Festival in 1979. He has since visited the city frequently for jazz promotion and education, fostering many outstanding local jazz musicians.
In his upcoming Christmas concert at Dom Pedro V Theatre, Eduardo will also give some performances with Macau singers Amanda Chan and Elisa Chan, as well as instrumentalists Lam Chak Seng, Chan Hon Chong and Gregory Won – which will highlight the Portuguese composer’s achievements in promoting jazz music development in Macau.
Priced at MOP 250, tickets are on sale from today. For more information visit www.macauticket.com or IC’s website.
