The Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Hengqin Line will begin operation tomorrow, providing citizens and tourists a faster travel option to the Macau Port of the Hengqin Border Checkpoint.

The new line comprises two stations: Lotus and Hengqin Stations.

Passengers wishing to travel to mainland China via the Hengqin Border Checkpoint can take the Hengqin Line starting from the “Lotus Station” and passing through the underwater tunnel in the Shizimen Canal to reach the “Hengqin Station” in the basement of the Macau Border Checkpoint Area at the Hengqin Border Checkpoint, according to the Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation, Limited (MLM).

After exiting the station by elevator or escalator, passengers can easily walk to the departure hall.

The 2.2-kilometre Hengqin Line has a two-minute journey time with a frequency of about six minutes.

The first light rail departing from the “Hengqin Line Lotus Station” is scheduled to begin the journey at 1:11 pm tomorrow.
