The University of Macau’s (UM) dragon boat team participated in the 2024 International Elite Universities Water Sports Open held in Hangzhou recently and they won second place in mixed kayak double 200m and fourth place in the 12-athlete dragon boat 200m race.
In addition, Cheong Sin Yi finished second in women’s kayak single 200m, while in mixed kayak double 200m, Cheong and Chan Kuan Io also finished in second place, according to a UM press release.
Student athletes from local and international universities joined the event, including from Harvard University, Yale University, University of Cambridge, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Nanyang Technological University, among others.
